My name is Christian Jones, and I’m based in Dallas, Texas. I’m a dedicated father to my son, Xane, who lives with mild cerebral palsy and CMT1A, a condition that affects tendon flexibility and motor skills. Our journey began with numerous challenges, as we worked tirelessly to identify and address his needs with professional testing, physical therapy, and endless hope. After months of perseverance, we finally saw significant improvements, and every step forward felt like a victory.
One of the tools that made a big difference was AFO braces, designed to support Xane’s alignment and improve his mobility. However, they came with their own set of challenges—finding comfortable, stylish footwear to fit the braces was nearly impossible. Traditional orthopedic shoes didn’t match Xane’s style as a nine-year-old, leaving him feeling self-conscious.
This struggle inspired me to create a stylish, athletic sneaker specifically designed for kids who wear AFO braces. These sneakers transform through an innovative process to make it easy for the brace to fit comfortably, allowing kids to feel confident and unrestricted. Xane played a big role in the design, and seeing his excitement when he wore them for the first time was an unforgettable moment.
Our journey didn’t stop there. While volunteering at a paraplegic event, I saw how much the kids enjoyed coloring, which led to a new idea. With the help of a friend, I created a coloring and storybook that celebrates inclusion and is designed especially for children with disabilities. My mission is to provide resources, whether through innovative footwear or creative projects, that help children worldwide feel supported, valued, and included.
